Recently, the leader of the National Rally gave an interview to the Le Point newspaper. For the show, she took a pose playing drums in a library. So far, nothing seems shocking, one detail has caught the attention of dishonest internet users. In fact, of the many books in storage, one of them seems to be associated with Hitler because his portrait appears on the cover.
This is the book “The Third Reich” by William L. Shirer. In the same library can be found one of the volumes of the diary of Joseph Goebbels, known as one of the leaders of the Third Reich. Faced with the growing controversy on social networks, the journalist behind the article published in Le Point confirmed the existence of two books. Other works about Hitler were on the shelf, such as Philip Friedher von Boiseleker’s “We Hit Want to Hitler” and Thomas Weber’s “Hitler’s First War”.
Apparently, the photo was taken by a lawyer who was one of Marine Le Pen’s friends. So the library was not hers, but the leader of the National Rally wanted to react: “He needed this job for an investigation,. For his part, the lawyer denied any connection with Nazism. “I have a library of historians and history enthusiasts“. Beyond these few books, it is true that there are many works in the library about other leaders of history, such as Churchill, Charles de Gaulle or Napoleon. A photograph beyond the context, but that does not stop the reaction of the canvas.
