The rescue team, which had been mobilizing for more than 48 hours, was unable to descend directly into the well because “its diameter was not more than 45 centimeters,” Abdelhabi Temrani, head of the rescue operation, said on public television.

A spokesman for the administration explained that the rescuers also wanted to “expand the diameter of the well, but it was not possible due to the nature of the earth leading to the landslide”.

The only solution: to dig around the well to save the surviving child of immense sympathy and solidarity on social networks, even to neighboring and rival Algeria.
