LFormer Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte officially took charge of the 5 Star Movement (M5S) on Saturday, the largest party in parliament in Rome, and is now deeply divided and behind in opinion polls.
Mr. who resigned his post in January. Conte was approached several months ago to take control of the M5S and upgrade the system, calling it “anti-system”. But his appointment was delayed by picrocoline struggles.

Giuseppe Conte has vowed to continue supporting Mario Draghi, who took over as head of the National Unity Government that will float Italy again in February, as the economy deteriorated by the Covit-19 epidemic.
He told the daily Il Fatto Quotidiano that the M5S would work to “bring loyal cooperation to the government of a country that has not yet emerged from a health emergency.”
Giuseppe Conte was the head of two governments formed by the 5 Star Movement-led coalition, but was not elected.
He was brought to power after winning the 2018 assembly election of M5S, founded by a comedian in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis.
