Social protest is on the rise in France. After several large mobilizations against pension reform in January and February, new actions will take place across France this Tuesday, March 7.
As in Belgium, there will be a series of rallies throughout the following week: a union rally on March 7, a strike for women’s rights on the 8th, a youth strike on the 9th, and finally, a climate demonstration on the 10th. If the reasons defended differ, they all aim to condemn the existing system and the inaction of the French government on various themes.
On Friday, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, head of La France Insoumise, spoke to Parisian students and high school students, encouraging them to take part in the rallies.
