Man eats free at restaurant for six years: “Simba” king arrested

Antonio Miguel Grimal Marcol, a 47-year-old Spaniard, had been going to the restaurant sporadically for six years to eat his food, refusing to pay the bill each time at checkout time. The restaurant apparently called the police, and when the police agents arrived at the scene, the man quite naturally agreed to take them to the station without protest.

He was nicknamed the “Simba” king, which means refusal to pay in Spanish. The man was still acquitted because the nature of his “crime” was only a misdemeanor. In Spain, justice rarely punishes this kind of crime, so he was never prosecuted… so Antonio felt untouchable. In the worst of all worlds, he would have paid a very small fine or been banned from frequenting the restaurant he snitched on.

But last July, a restaurant scammer went a little overboard and was arrested six times in a single week, according to media outlet Elgaso. So the judge responsible for his sentencing decided to sentence him to 15 days in jail so he wouldn’t start again … and he should learn his lesson. After that, “Simba” Raja was not seen trying to rip off the restaurant owners. Also, he became famous in the city of Zaragoza.
