Certainly not unheard of since Inauguration Day in Iowa on July 18, 2015, when the former president attacked Senator John McCain, a former prisoner of war, on July 18, 2015, defying predictions and humiliating his opponents. In Vietnam, he said, “they don’t like captured people.” It was over, the experts immediately announced. And of course that infamous comment was there on January 23, 2016, when he announced to a rapturous crowd back in Iowa:
I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody
I will not lose any voters.
