‘My worst nightmare come true’: Paramedic discovers too late that the victim she was trying to save is her daughter

On November 15, in Calgary, there was a major road accident between a truck and a car.

While one passenger managed to extricate himself from the vehicle, the other sustained serious injuries.

When Jaime Erickson arrived at the scene, she immediately came to the girl’s aid and looked at her injuries, which prevented Jaime from recognizing her daughter. After waiting by her side, she sends the young woman by helicopter to a nearby hospital.

During a press conference, another paramedic commented on the drama: “Unbeknownst to him, Jaime was keeping his own daughter alive”.

After completing his day’s work, the paramedic returns home. It was there that Canadian police met him and informed him of the death of his daughter, Montana.

It was at this moment that Jaime Erickson realized that the young woman he was trying to save was actually his daughter. “My worst medical nightmare came true, She writes on Facebook. The badly injured patient I was caring for was my own flesh and blood. My only child. My mini me. My daughter is Montana. Her injuries were so horrific that I barely recognized her”.

Despite treatment, doctors decided to amputate Montana because his injuries did not allow him to live. “She was a fighter and fought until the day she died”, his mother wrote.

“I will cherish the memories we made and the time we spent together.” she added. “I’m broken. I’m broken. I miss a part of me. I’m left to pick up the pieces and look forward to continuing.“
