Police say there was no foul play in Memphis rapper Big Scar’s death – FOX13 News Memphis

Memphis, Tenn. — Big Scar, the Memphis rapper who signed to rapper Gucci Mane’s record label, passed away Thursday.

Gucci Mane posted the news of the rapper’s death on Instagram.

“It hurts,” Gucci Mane posted a crying emoji. “I’m yearning for you.”

The cause of Scar’s death is unknown.

Scar, whose real name was Alexander Woods, was 22 years old.

The Memphis Police Department confirmed Woods died Thursday, adding that no foul play is suspected.

“This is an ongoing death investigation,” police added.

According to one of Scarr’s recent Instagram posts, he was scheduled to tour with Key Glock, also a rapper from Memphis, as part of his “Glockoma Tour 2023.”

Scar’s death follows the murders of two rappers in Memphis.
