The End is here for Roys – Variety

HBO has released the official trailer for “Succession” season 4, which is now confirmed to be the final season of the hit show.

The new trailer teases the Roy Kids’ final battle against their father Logan (Brian Cox), who outsmarts them – with some discreet help from Tom (Matthew Macfadyen) – from stopping Waystar Royco’s deal with GoJo in the Season 3 finale.

Here’s the official tagline: “The sale of media group Waystar Royco to technology visionary Lukas Matsson is drawing closer than ever. The prospect of this seismic sale sparks existential anxiety and familial division among the royals as they speculate what their lives will look like once the deal is complete. A power struggle ensues as a power struggle ensues as The family is weighing a future in which its cultural and political weight will be severely diminished.”

The trailer sees more complicity from Roy’s siblings Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Roman (Kieran Culkin) and Chief (Sarah Snook), as they plot to sabotage their father and wrest the reins of power from him. Kendall introduces a new plan: partnering with their enemies, Stewie Hosseini (Ariane Moayed), Sandy Furness (Hope David) and Nan Pierce (Cherry Jones). Meanwhile, Connor Roy (Alan Ruck) is preparing for a presidential bid against Jered Menken (Justin Kirk), and Jerry’s (J-to-be) cousin Greg (Nicholas Brown).

The cast of “Succession” includes Alexander Skarsgard, Peter Friedman, David Rush, Fisher Stevens, Hiam Abbas, Justin Loeb, Scott Nicholson, Zoe Winters and Jenny Berlin.

Created by Jesse Armstrong, Season 4 is executive produced by Armstrong, Adam McKay, Frank Rich, Kevin Messick, Gene Tranter, Marc Mylod, Tony Roche, Scott Ferguson, John Brown, Lucy Prebill, Will Tracy, and Will Ferrell. Armstrong as the projector.
