Gianni Williams was born on June 15 in Denver, Colorado. But birth did not go like that …
The baby’s face was cut during emergency surgery. He needed 13 stitches to close the wound on his left cheek.
Childbirth should be done vaginally. But problems arose: Suddenly, the baby’s heartbeat could no longer be heard. Emergency surgery was decided.
Mother Regina Williams explains: “They said her face was near the wall of the placenta. I tried to understand, but there are a lot of things I don’t understand about surgery, other than the fact that her face was cut off and a plastic surgeon had to come to take care of it. I have never heard anyone notice the look on their baby’s face after surgery. ”
The family created a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds and appoint a lawyer to sue the hospital.
In a statement to WGNTV, Denver Health said, “Denver Health has direct contact with the family. Although this is a known medical problem of emergency cesarean sections, our goal is to always provide care for the benefit of both mother and baby. At Denver Health, the safety and well-being of our patients is our number one priority. ”
