The meeting of health ministers from various levels of power in Belgium (federal, regional and community) begins at 8 am today. In our country, children between the ages of 5 and 11 need to be given the green light to be vaccinated against measles.

On Thursday, the High Health Council and the Ethics Committee sent their report to ministers. These reports support the vaccine: doses for two children, at three-week intervals, on an individual and voluntary basis. Given priority is given to children at risk, who have health problems (comorbidities) that increase the risk of developing a serious form of Govt disease.

The vaccine for children between the ages of 5 and 11 is already being tested in many countries, including Israel, Canada, the United States, and Denmark. The green light has just been shown in France as well.
