JI am anti-war and will continue to say so. “At the entrance to the Moscow court where she was tried on Thursday, Russian journalist Marina Ovsannikova showed her courage in front of the cameras of BFM television. She became famous in Russia for holding an anti-war sign during a state-run news broadcast.
This Thursday, Marina Ovsannikova was fined 50,000 rubles (800 euros) for “discrediting” the Russian armed forces. It’s a new offense introduced by the Kremlin in early March that bans journalists in Russia from using the word “war” to talk about the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
